Today was a bit rough. So rough, in fact, that I found myself composing and singing a song about the beauty of nap-time this morning while the girls bickered and fussed in the background. But all of that seems to fade with one flash of a 4 year old smile, every crevice of her teeth filled with red juju fruits, and a 2 year old randomly grabbing my toe and saying, "Wake up Mommy! You gotta get inside! There's a porcupine comin'!"
Hannah, sobbing: "She always take my toys. Her won't give me space."
Who? This little angel??
Charis and Hannah have been playing so sweetly lately and are becoming so much more independent. Totally by God's grace, preschool at home is going well and we're both really enjoying it! I don't know if we'll always home-school, but this year has been great.
Despite a pretty good routine, no day is ever the same, breakdowns are common, and we're thankful for the small successes. (Getting everyone ready to go somewhere while keeping peace in our home and avoiding hurt feelings = awesome. Who cares if I forgot Bethany's shoes? Not me!)
