Little Loves

We're so excited to get to see lots of
family this weekend for Thanksgiving! Hope to post plenty of pics after the festivities. In the mean time, here are some sweet recent ones.

His new truck that he won't let go of!

I need to sneak out in the middle of the night and dispose of these iridescent rainbow flip flops once and for all!

Homemade paper dolls

Hannie's first musical, The Sound of Music. We enjoyed our date so much, but we missed little Charis who couldn't come because she was covered in these:

Mysterious hives that spread all over the place until we finally went to urgent care for meds.

Winter coats from last year still fit! Alright!

Suitable

The past month has gone quickly, so this post will be full of pics.  The biggest event was Pop and Mike's birthday at the end of October: Pop turned 70 and Mike turned 35! There are a few pics of the festivities below. Hannie's sense of style is featured in these first few pictures.  She told me recently, "Well, you look suitable."  Whew, what a relief.

"It's a jolly 'oliday with 'annah"...

Charis's picture won the coloring contest at the girls' music class!

First shoulder ride

Hiking at a new little trail we discovered... the girls stuffed their backpacks full of provisions (toys), and guess who ended up carrying the packs for the end of the hike?

It's quite a stretch to reach up to that big hand for this tiny boy!

Snuggle buddies

Pop was surprised to see Susannah come outside to greet him on his birthday!  Aunt Sarah, Aunt Vicky, Figgy, and the Franklin Ackers were all able to come for the fun.

It's all smiles when Aunt Vicky comes to town!

Givin Pop a smooch

Sweet Sus checking out some toys
Susannah doesn't know how she feels about all this kissing!

Bethy conked out on Aunt Sarah's cozy lap :)

Bubs and Aunt Sally

Cheese puffs make it party

Baby John is brave!
Granna & Grandaddy came to celebrate Mike's birthday later that weekend!  Hannah tried to skip her nap, but as you see it didn't quite work...

Resting with Gdaddy

They were thrilled about the drizzly skies right after getting new Frozen umbrellas from Daddy.

Jammie Tea day at school!  We made dangerously good chocolate chip scones.

Enjoying some tea and lots of library books for a fun school day

Old Man 'Than

And I have to finish with some quotes and memories I've been accumulating...

Bethany has been calling me Miss Brae for a while now, and she has two imaginary friends: Cobbly and Weeso.  When she misbehaves, she blames it on her invisible buddies.  "I didn't did dat. Weeso did dat." Or if she doesn't eat her dinner, "Cobbly and Weeso don't like deze beans."

We had lasagna this week. Bethy kept calling it "Elzanyo" which was interesting, but I didn't realize until tonight that she was confusing lasagna with Almanzo (Wilder) from our most recent read aloud book.  She thought their names were the same: Elzanyo.

Charis and Hannah's pretend names recently have been Tuna and Moona, which literally cracks me up every time they call out to each other in loud dramatic voices, "TOOOOOOONAAAA!"

Charis told me this week, "I can't get enough of Daddy!  I get more than enough of you, Mommy."

And finally, Hannah said, "Mom, we don't have enough money to buy a house.  We just have enough money to buy bubble juice and stuff like that." Then, she held up an empty pimento jar with this suggestion, "Maybe we could stock up our money and try to buy a house."
