| Last days in the old sandbox. |
It's been almost a month since we moved! We've settled into our little country ranch, and it's starting to feel like home. We've already seen plenty of deer, some toads, tree frogs, a snake, and lots of chickens. We've had to replace our hot water heater, schedule tree removal, and put up a back yard fence. The old-house projects are slowing down a little (or so we hope!), so we're trying to stick to the school routine and keep cleaning & unpacking.
| The day after we moved in, Uncle Steve & Aunt Sarah, Mom, and Dad all came down with a trailer load of furniture and an amazing birthday dinner. Having family here made it feel so much more like home. |
| LOVE this pic. |
| Uncle Pete brought the girls home from Cousin Camp (see pics below). I heard that he got all five Acker and Gilbert children to church by himself earlier that morning... definitely a Super Daddy feat of strength. |
| The girls had a blast at Cousin Camp with the famous Aunt Sally! The toys, the sugar, the sleepover joy... |
| Ladies getting ready for the egg hunt (refer to Sally's blog for a better pic of this) |
| Li'l twinsies and best buddies for church! |
| All the girls slept in Susannah's room together. Tooooo cute. |
| They've been jumping almost every day. Charis learned how to do flips, which I'm not thrilled about! |
| Cay Cay's precious original song (with original spelling!) she wrote in her journal: "God is Good and loving, powerful, almighty, kind, gentle. He shows grace to all, He is gracious. He watches over us like a shepherd watching over his sheep. My name is Charis Gilbert. I am 6. Any tune." |
| Granna & Gdaddy came down for a sleepover and (another) work weekend! |
| Dolly ride, anyone? |
| Charis loves to help with Bubby, and he loves being her little darlin' |
| Most of our neighbors are old, so we try to walk in the afternoons in hopes of catching a glimpse of some of them so we can meet some people! |
| The chalk paint cabinets were a win, but the chalkboard countertops have already required touch-ups... |
| Nathanael got his first baseball hat from Grandaddy and Granna, and he was excited to look like Daddy! |
| Mama's 31st birthday with four of the best little gifts I could ever dream of. |
| Resurrection Sunday! |
| Bethy was not in a very smiley mood that morning, but they looked so pretty! |
| This sweetie lost her FOURTH tooth at the new house - she got brave and yanked it out. |
| Hannah wants to be a gardener, so we planted lots of seeds for flowers and veggies, and we're hoping to see them sprout soon. |
| Thankfully Bethany's imaginary friends Cobbly and Weeso moved to the new neighborhood when we did, so she still plays and chats with them regularly. |
| Bubs said to the rooster today, "Wooster! I Bubby James. It's me!" |
| Spring break Star Wars birthday party! We did not get the memo to wear a Star Wars t-shirt. |
| This is what we do while the big girls are at music class. |
| The kids got to adopt these baby animals from the Jones' farm - Aunt Sarah and Uncle Steve sent stories about them for weeks, then let the kids apply for adoption, and the day we went to pick them up from the post office they were overjoyed! Bethy's is Inkurwa Lilly. |

| Pop came last Wednesday to tell captivating stories and take us on a date to Cracker Barrel! |
| This picture cracks me up. |
| We're back in our old homeschool group, so we joined the weekly P.E. classes & get to play on the playground afterwards. |
| Riding the mower with Daddy! |
| Our Hailey came for the day on Saturday! The girls were super excited to see her. We're just over 30 minutes away from her now, but it seems like forever to the girls since we used to be right next door. We hope to keep up with frequent visits. |
