Library Account Status: DELINQUENT

Yes, our status for many things in life right now probably matches our library account status. Housework, laundry, weeding, mulching, you name it.

However, today marked a big day in our emergence out of the newborn survival blur. We went for our first morning walk!

Old man hat!

It's fun to see how much the girls adore their baby.  The kids had colds last week and could hardly stand having to keep their distance from him.

Oh, and we're moving! Don't know where. Probably before May 31. Woohoo, life's an adventure these days!

Friends!

We had to leave some wonderful people when we left Winchester 2 years ago, including some dear friends.  Two of them, Debbie and her youngest daughter Abby, came to see us this week for two days! I can't explain how refreshing it was for all of us to have their company. Abby played with and read to the girls, and Debbie practically stuffed our fridge and freezer full of delicious, healthy food, not to mention preparing every meal and washing dishes while they were here. Debbie is my Mommy-mentor, the kind of friend who wouldn't judge me for a grocery cart full of hydrogenated oils, but is always willing to give me advice on parenting and health. She brings peace everywhere she goes, and she left me with inspiration to be a gentler, more Christlike Mom.  Abby is such a sweet example of beauty and girlhood to my kids. Their family is a treasure to us!

Dedication Day

Nathanael had his baby dedication today! It was special to have a few minutes with our church family to pray for him and dedicate his life to the Lord. The girls dressed up for the occasion this morning. Babies were bathed, bed-heads were wetted and combed, and a strict hair bow limit was in effect, which is unusual around here...
I think Charis' plastic rainbow flip-flops still expressed her individuality quite well, don't you? And Hannie ended up with an extra clip in her hair by the time we got to church. I hid it underneath the ribbons of the first bow, and we were both happy.

Than Man is starting to smile! He saved his first big grin for today, and I happened to have my camera ready, so here it is!
Looking very dapper, my boy.
Precious baby!

Toddler Babysitter for Hire

Quote of the week: "Mommy, I never saw a toddler sit on a baby before... She babysitted him!"

Thankfully the bouncy seat, Nathanael's body, and Bethany's diapered bottom all have plenty of give, and no one was seriously injured.
